Your very first scuba dive, fully private. Fabien and Caro, who founded The Little Green Boat, take only your group: at most two beginners per instructor, never shared with other guests. After a briefing on the shore you walk in from the beach, get used to breathing underwater where you can still stand, and go down together at your own pace. They choose the site on the day, for the sea and for you, among their beginner sites on the south coast: where green sea turtles come to feed, a small wreck in calm, shallow water, or a coral nursery.

No diving certificate needed, from 10 years old; a video of your dive is included.

Cancellation and weather

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start, with a full refund; until then you can also move your dive to another day with room.

Later than that, and for a no-show or arriving too late to dive, there is no refund.

If the sea is not safe, The Little Green Boat moves or cancels the dive.

The south coast dive sites

Curaçao is known for shore diving. Along the calm south coast the reef starts close to the beach, so instead of going out by boat you walk in from the shore, get used to the equipment where you can still stand, and then swim out over the reef.

Fabien and Caro, who founded The Little Green Boat, choose the site on the day, for the conditions at sea and for you. They pick from their beginner sites on the south coast: a spot where green sea turtles come to feed, a small wreck in calm, shallow water, or a coral nursery.

The small wreck in their photos is the Tugboat, a sunken tug that lies in shallow water in Caracasbaai, now grown over with coral and surrounded by fish. The coral nursery photo shows rows of coral trees in a Reef Renewal Curaçao nursery, where young corals are grown on underwater frames and later replanted on the reef.

Green sea turtles feed on seagrass and algae in shallow water, and one of the photos shows two first-time divers kneeling on the sand beside one. Other pictures show reef fish over yellow corals and a green sea turtle from one of their dives, logged on iNaturalist.

Whichever site they choose, you go down slowly, with your instructor setting the pace and depth for your comfort.
