Why book two dives instead of one?
The first dive gets you used to breathing underwater, at your own pace after a briefing on the shore. On the second you can take in more of the reef. Both dives on the same day cost USD 138 per person, while a single dive on its own is USD 103.
Do I need experience or a certificate?
No diving certificate is needed. The dives are for beginners, and the minimum age is 10.
When does it start, and how long does it take?
You start at 09:00 or 13:00 on the days shown in The Little Green Boat's calendar. Plan on about half a day from meeting to goodbye for both dives; the listing gives 240 minutes. Book online at least 12 hours ahead.
Is it private?
Yes. Each booking is for 2 to 4 divers and is never shared with other guests, and one instructor takes at most two beginners.
How do the dives go?
The day starts with a briefing on the shore: how the equipment works, the safety rules and what you will see. You walk in from the beach and get used to breathing underwater while you can still stand, then go down together slowly, with your instructor setting the pace and depth for your comfort. On the second dive you can take in more of the reef. Guiding is in English, French or Spanish.
What is included, and what should I bring?
Included are your own instructor for your group, full scuba equipment, the briefing and supervision throughout both dives, water, juice and fresh fruit, and videos of your dives. Bring swimwear and a towel, reef-safe sunscreen, a reusable water bottle, a change of clothes, and a hair tie if you have long hair.
Where do we meet?
At the dive site, where your instructor meets you. The sites are chosen on the day from The Little Green Boat's beginner sites on the south coast. If you need a ride, pickup anywhere on the island is available on request.
How do booking, cancellation and weather work?
You book on The Little Green Boat's booking page: pick a date, book and pay by card. Cancelling is free up to 24 hours before the start, with a full refund, and until then you can also move to another day with room. Later cancellations, no-shows and arriving too late to dive are not refunded. If the sea is not safe, The Little Green Boat moves or cancels the dives, and they contact you the day before.
