A private 22-foot boat with a shade roof and a local captain, for up to three of you; keep your catch, cleaned by the captain.

Cancellation and weather

Cancel more than 24 hours before the start and your 15% is refunded in full.

Cancel within 24 hours, or do not show up, and the 15% is not refunded.

If Reef Riders cancel for the weather or your safety, you choose another date or get your 15% back.

You can move to another date with room; your 15% moves with you.

From the bay to the deep grounds

This is Reef Riders' most complete fishing day. It starts at Playa Santa Cruz, a beach in Banda Abou on Curaçao's west coast. The west coast lies in the lee of the trade winds, so its water is usually much calmer than on the north coast. If the weather calls for it, another departure point can be used.

The fishing begins as soon as the boat leaves the bay. With light-tackle trolling gear, lures are pulled behind the moving boat for tuna and mahi-mahi, when conditions allow. Both are fast open-water fish that hunt near the surface, and the photos show guests holding up tuna on board and on the beach, one of them as long as the young angler who caught it.

Then the boat moves out over the deep grounds. Curaçao rises steeply from the seabed, so very deep water is never far from shore. Daiwa electric reels lower the bait hundreds of meters down for queen snapper and other deep-water snappers, and bring the heavy line back up for you. A Minn Kota trolling motor with Spot-Lock uses GPS to hold the boat in place over the spot while you fish.

At the end of the day the captain cleans your catch at the fish-cleaning table by the water. The photos show tuna and red snappers laid out side by side, and all of it is yours to take home.

Upfront payment: 15% of the final booking total, paid securely through Stripe after the operator confirms the price and availability. The remainder is paid to the operator; any separate security deposit is excluded.

The 5-hour charter adds trolling: from the moment you leave the bay, lures go out for tuna and mahi-mahi when conditions allow, before the deep-dropping for queen snapper and other deep-water snappers. It comes with light-tackle trolling gear and Daiwa electric reels, and costs USD 420 for the boat. The 4-hour charter focuses on bottom fishing for red snapper and costs USD 390.
