How is the 5-hour charter different from the 4-hour one?

The 5-hour charter adds trolling: from the moment you leave the bay, lures go out for tuna and mahi-mahi when conditions allow, before the deep-dropping for queen snapper and other deep-water snappers. It comes with light-tackle trolling gear and Daiwa electric reels, and costs USD 420 for the boat. The 4-hour charter focuses on bottom fishing for red snapper and costs USD 390.

When does it run, and how long is it?

On the day and at the time you ask for, once Reef Riders confirm it. You spend five hours on the water.

Who can join, and what does it cost?

Anyone from 10 years old, and no fishing experience is needed. The boat is private for up to 3 guests, and the USD 420 price covers the whole boat. The price shown is an estimate; you receive the availability and final price by email.

Where does it start, and is there pickup?

The boat leaves from Playa Santa Cruz on the sheltered west coast, or from another departure point when the weather asks for it. Pickup and drop-off are not included, so you make your own way to the start.

What is included?

The private 22-foot boat with a shade roof, an experienced local captain, light-tackle trolling gear, professional Daiwa electric fishing reels, a Minn Kota trolling motor with Spot-Lock, fishing gear, bait and tackle, the fishing license, cold water and soft drinks, and your catch cleaned by the captain.

Can we keep the fish?

Yes. Whatever you catch is yours, and the captain cleans it for you before you go.

How do booking and payment work?

Send your preferred date and time and the number of guests. Kua Kaminda passes the request to Reef Riders on WhatsApp, and they first confirm that your date is free. You then pay 15% of the price online, through Stripe, to book, and the remaining 85% in cash to Reef Riders after the charter. There are no booking fees on top: the 15% is part of the price.

What is the cancellation and weather policy?

If you cancel more than 24 hours before the start, your 15% is refunded in full. If you cancel within 24 hours or do not show up, it is not refunded. If Reef Riders cancel for the weather or for your safety, you can pick another date or have your 15% returned. Moving to another date with room is also possible, and your 15% moves with you.
