When does the Mermaid sail, and where do I check in?
The trip runs every day except Thursday. Check in by 06:45 at Fishermen's Pier in Spanish Water, just off the Caracasbaai roundabout; the Mermaid sails at 07:00. Parking is free just outside the gate, and from there you walk in to the pier.
How long is the day?
The trip is listed at 570 minutes, about nine and a half hours. The crossing out takes about an hour and a half, you then have about seven hours on Klein Curaçao, and everyone is back aboard at 15:20 for the sail home of about an hour.
How much is it, and do children pay less?
Adults (13 and older) pay USD 150. Children aged 4 to 12 pay USD 75, and children under 4 sail free. The prices shown are estimates: you receive the final price and availability by email.
Are meals and drinks included?
Yes. Breakfast and a barbecue lunch are served, and there is an open bar with soft drinks and juices. Beer and wine are not part of the open bar and cost extra.
Do I need my own snorkel gear?
Snorkel masks are on board, but there are no fins, so bring your own if you like to snorkel with them. The snorkeling is right in front of the boat, where you can swim with the sea turtles.
What can we do on Klein Curaçao?
Swim and snorkel off the white beach, or walk across the island to the old lighthouse and the shipwreck on the windward shore. The photos also show guests jumping off the Mermaid's upper deck, a blue floating mat beside the boat, and the lookout tower by the beach house.
Is there hotel pickup?
Yes, if you would rather not drive. Pickup is free from around Jan Thiel and costs USD 10 to 20 from elsewhere on the island. It is booked together with the trip.
How does booking work?
Send your booking with the form on the tour page. Kua Kaminda contacts Mermaid Boat Trips through its WhatsApp Business account, reserves your places and confirms them to you; the availability and final price reach you by email. Sending the request on its own does not yet reserve places.
